Hi All:

I am thinking about jumping into the higher end pen market with a purchase of a CS 58. Swisher seems to have a good amount in stock with nice closeout pricing. I really like the Meteor (anybody own this finish?) but need to know what nib to get. I have been writing for the last few years with a few different modern Shaffers pens with a Med nib. My first thought was to just get the Med nib, but then I thought I might try a med Italic, what are your thoughts?

I have a CS 100 in meteor with a medium italic nib. I think meteor is the most amazing finish that CS makes! It's really gorgeous. If you're into red, of course smile.gif

Unfortunately my pen had a bit of a flow problem & is currently being tweaked. Also sad.gif the "jewel" at the end of the cap fell off and disappeared! So that's being replaced.

The writing quality of the italic nib is terrific though & I'm REALLY MISSING IT! Can't wait to get it back! I generally like broad stubs or broad italics, but having the medium italic is a nice variation.

The nice thing about Swisher pens is that they usually have a good selection of different nib sizes, so you can't go wrong there.

Well, I'm a soon to be owner of a CS 58 in Meteor! I had to go with the regular med nib as this was the only one available. Purchased from Pear Tree Pen as Swisher was out. Really looking forward to receiving my first CS pen!

you will be hooked! the nib quality is great at least in my limited experience.

I'm sure you'll be delighted with your pen, kp, send us a picture and your first impressions. I can only agree about the nib - at least that on my Churchill.

I hope you use it lots and and find more reasons to write than ever before!

Well the pen arrived today and I love it! Writes so much better then any of the other (cheaper) pens I own it's not even funny. Let me get a few weeks of use with some different inks and I'll post a review (my first) with pictures.
