Hello all. My wife and I went to Bowling Green, Kentucky to visit family and do some bicycling. While we were there, we decided to do some antiqueing. Here in Mchigan, I have had a hard time finding quailty vintage pens in the local antique shops. I had just the opposite problem in KY and Tennessee. The bigger problem for me was trying to limit my purchases so I had gas money to make it home!

I settled on two Parker pen and pencil sets. On the left is a 51 set in blue with a fine nib. Both pieces work very well. the pen had dried ink the sac, so I filled it with water to see what would happen. It immediatly started, producing a nice, smooth, blue line.

The one on the right is a 21 set. The pencil still has the original price sticker-$3.95, on it. The pencil works great, but the pen seems to leak a little at the front of the hood, I'll have to look into that.

All in all, I'm very happy with the spoils of our trip.

Very nice! I've never hunted in the wild. We have a trip in May which may afford the opportunity to search a few local antique shops - I have no idea what I'll find, if anything, but am looking forward to the hunt.

I visit relatives in Wisconson twice a year and always seem to work in a few antiquing trips while there.
The owners have gotten to know me and have things ready to show me when I walk in!

What part of WI? I might be able to show you a spot or two on your next visit. Of course, I understand if you don't wish to divulge your sources.smile.gif
