Parker Sonnet
I own an early-model, black GT Parker Sonnet which I use as a daily writer. Since it's been exposed to the rigours of everyday usage, it's picked up some knocks and scratches which have really devastated the black exterior paint work.

The cap is worn down at its top and bottom, and the barrel has lost some of its paint at the very bottom and in its middle section. I'd very much appreciate advice on how to restore the pen to its original lacquer black condition. Do I send it in to a pen store to have them mail it to Parker? Or, do I purchase some special concoction and do the job myself? If so, where can I get an appropriate product?

Thanks in advance.

My advice would be to live with it, it gives the pen character.

If the nib is really wonderful, you could always consider getting a new body and cap to put it in. Have a search on eBay, you might find a lightly used example going for not too much money. Worth a try IMHO.
