Here I wrote what I've bought in January and February.
In March there were no new pens, just some inks.
This April, I purchased 'only' four pens:
1. new Pelikan Level L5 black cap/gray barrel with a steel F-nib. A major German department store is selling off their stocks, so this was reduced to € 10 (gold nibbed were € 20) from MSRP € 75.
I would't have paid more for this, it's not worth the MSRP from a quality aspect. A very dry writer, which is not too reliable after a few days of unuse. I've taken it apart and flushed it, but is still dry, especially when being filled with Lamy Blue/Black iron gall ink.
2. as new Danitrio Takumi deep blue Urushi (limited Roiro-Migaki series) c/c with Stub nib, currently under nib exchange to a flexi EF. Our Gary in NZ sold his new Takumi to me for a great price (offered on this board for sale), and Kevin ('winedoc') gave his outstanding service for the nib exchange to me, the second owner. Thanks, Gentlemen!
A beautifull, perfect pen in a black laquer wooden box for a great price. It will see some use outside the house for sure. This pen is still comfortable, despite it's size, but I'm sure I don't want a larger pen. Also posting is neither necessary nor possible.
3. new old stock OMAS double desk set with FP and BP on a green glass base for € 120 incl shipping inside Germany, won off ebay with no box or papers. They must have been on display and then in storage for some time (nib discolouration, storage marks on fp), but were unused. The glass base is pristine. They are the currently sold models. The two pens are black resin with 'Omas Extra' engraved on the sides. The tapered piston-filled FP has a stiff 18K F-nib and the striped ink windows of the current desk model (vintage models have a single ink window). It is a looong FP (21 cm! The tapered BP is 19 cm long), while the faceted green glass base is thick as bullet proof glass (1,8 cm height, 22 cm long and 14 cm wide). The pen holders have three golden stripes, the pens only one golden trim ring each. The set looks very plain and serious, made for a CEO's/President's desk.
The FP writes dry, scratchy and loudly, so some nib work is inevitable, if I want to write more than my signature. The piston is very stiff but works, the ink capacity is large enough. Actually I didn't find out the current MSRP of this set (there was a small old sticker with 365,- on it, but I don't know if DM or EUR) , while the sets are manufactured for decades now, they are still rare, so the price is fine.
4. new Pelikan M620 'Madrid' with 18K EF nib for € 165 incl. shipping, without box or papers, from Regina Martini's brandnew auction site
http://www.martiniauctions.com . She offered me free choice of the nib (originally 'Cities' series Pelikans are only offered with F, M or B nibs) and will test it for me. This red marbled pen is one of the most beautifull 'size M600' colours. Just bought the pen and it has yet to arrive ...
There were also some dip pens and nibs, but they are not yet satisfactory. Also I've got some nice inks this month, like De Atramentis/Gutenberg 'Aubergine' (seemingly the single real Aubergine colour on the ink market), Noodler's 'Purple Martin' (nicer than regular purples, easy on the eyes), the Noodler's Swishmixes 'Thahitian Pearl' and 'Burgundy', among others ....
Now I'm eyeing a Pelikan 'Athens' in a B&M store, regular MSRP ..., but that will have to wait ...
