Full Version: Early to mid 40's Parkers

This week my mother offered me the fountain pen she used in high school. We won't dig it out for a while because she is currently hospitalized. She said it was a Parker and that she paid $9 for it new but cannot remember any more. She graduated in 1946 so I'm guessing it is 1944-45, maybe 1943, era.

I love a mystery so I was trying to figure out what it might be based on these clues. I just did some web searching but cannot find any correlation to the price for Vacs, "51's", or any other Parkers from that time.

Any ideas?

Per the ads I have from 1943 and '44, 51s were $12.50 and $15 (and up), but Vacs were $8.75. My guess is that it was a Vac.

It will be exciting for you to see it--hope you like it!

Thank you. That is exactly what I was looking for.
