This is what I do in my free time in order to relax. Once I get home I write in my journal about the day events and family in general and then sketch whatever comes out first. It usually takes about 5 days for each one because I only have about 15 to 20 minutes before the kids jump all over me.

Materials

Moleskine large sketch notebook

Inks

BlueBlack Parker Quink

Avacado PR

BlackCherry PR

Cayene Noodler’s

Blau permanent Rohrer&klingner

Writing instruments

Tombow zoom 505 fp medium nib

Duke 911-1 medium nib

Hero 616 fine nib

WingSung 612 fine nib

Regards,

Thanks for sharing the drawings!

And oh yeah, for reminding us all that there IS justification for a keeping a dozen pens filled with a dozen different inks ready to go!  I really DO need those extra colors I've been wanting to get!

I think I'll have to start keeping my moleskine by the phone and fill it with my phone doodle sketches.

WOAH, neat pictures. I like the first one alot with the turquiose. These pictures are almost hypnotic with all the zigzags. How much ink did you use on these, seems like if you can fill a whole bottle with all that ink

Out of thin air, quote of the moment (6/1/06): "boredom leads to creativity, as compulsion leads to innovation"

-Name your kids dudley, cause the name is feeling a little deprived =P

I use my new reproduction Parker 45's at work, in meetings, etc. Then when I have work at home, I will use my MontBlanc 144.... Generally I just like the feel of writing with a fountain pen...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
