I might be convinced to buy one of these after all... AHHH!!!! I'M BEING CONVERTED INTO A LAMY FOLLOWER!!!!!!!! roflmho.gif

Seriously though, I cannot believe you did all these tests. I will not take my pens more than 2 feet from my desk, never mind DROP THEM OFF A TWO STORY BUILDING!!!!!!!

Well, at least this pen seems to be just about indestructible so I might get one soon.
Loving Mont Blanc and everything fountain pen!!!!!!!!

One of the few, the proud... 14 year-old FPN'ers!!!!!!

Now someone try it with a 149 go on...what no takers?
Then try it with an aeroplane - yes you know who you are - no comment?

Time to resurrect this topic once again. clap1.gif

I contemplated about starting a fresh one, but really, this is the appropriate place to announce: I will have a L2k soon. Yey!

The looks, big ink reservoir - this thread - and other (normal) reviews are to blame/thank. I'm so amazed that I could bring myself to spend this much on a pen... didn't see it coming when I bought my first for ~20e. blush.gif

Thank you all for your insights about this pen. I hope I'll get a good one.

-O

You wish! Haha yeah my L2K is still going strong - used it for my last set of exams - including all of the notes! Wrote a good few hundred pages over a week or so - no worries at all! It might be replaced soon as my daily user by the Pilot VP I have coming in the mail soon... we'll see how good the VP is; and no, I'm not testing that, either biggrin.gif

How does the Lamy 2000 fare as far as its locking mechanism for the cap is concerned? It has small metal fins to clip the cap in place when closed. Does it get worn out after a few years of use? It would be a mess if a pen is uncapped in the shirt pocket.

Fine job on your review! I like to give my pens the white water rapid test to check all the seals and threads on my pens for leakage.

OK, I am on the second floor while reading this thread. I’m surrounded by fountain pens. All I would have to do is pick one up, reach out the open window and drop it onto the patio.

But which one!

Is it going to be the cheap Chinese pen that never worked properly from day one? The Sheaffer Lady that was dirt cheap from eBay and has never worked. The Targa that leaks so badly that it can empty it’s self overnight.

Perhaps the pen I have owned the longest, a Waterman that survived being driven over by a car I a car park. No, it has already suffered enough.

Which of your pens would you throw out of a second floor window

though they wrote ok, and looked ok-the leaky Vectors that spoiled the bottoms of my expensive leather purses.. back when I had a couple of nice leather purses.. wish I had thought to hurl them-the Vectors-off the balcony.. they were just tossed into the garbahge.

It would have to be a black Sheaffer Snorkel. More trouble than it is worth. It writes beautifully but is needlessly complex.
