Noodler's Cape Cod Cranberry

This is a new ink that's Baystate-Blue compatible.

In short: not a color I'll pick every day, but quite fun. In the bottle, it looks a lot like the pinky red highlighter ink (Hellfire red?).

Thanks for the review. I purchased Concord Grape as soon as I heard about it, but I held off on this ink. Based on your picture I think that was a good decision. It's a nice looking ink, but a little too pink for me.

I'm hoping Nathan will create an eye-popping true red and vibrant green in this line.

I really like this colour, it looks so vibrant and lively, but it's hardly usable at work except for marking a printed text passage. And buying a full bottle just because of writing some birthday cards will let the ink collect dust on the shelf but I don't wish this for any of my ink bottles. But I'm very pleased with the Baystate Line so far - all colours show distinct vibrancy in colour I've never seen in a fountain pen ink before! Nathan Tardif does an excellent job with this line - I hope it will be expanded to more colours - green and turquoise would be my favourites!

Thank you for the review on this new colour!

I am going to buy a bottle for my wife, she is a teacher and she can correct papers with it :yikes: , she can change from cartridges to the filler.

Real men use fountain pens (and real women use them too).

I need to spend some more time with this ink, but I definitely prefer the grape and the blue in this series.

It's a nice color, but what are these 1946 inks that Nathan claims to have based these on? Most of the older inks I have seen are not particularly darker or more vibrant than todays inks - often quite the opposite. Does he mean Parker Penman? Or did Carter have some intense inks?

Ok, this probably belongs in it's own thread. . .

So if you have a lot of ink,

You should get a Yink, I think.

Thanks for the review! It convinced me to buy a bottle. Can one really have too many bottles of hot pink ink? :cloud9:

I think not! :D

I just bought a bottle of this from Swisher pens, so when it gets in I'm thinking of doing a review -- Deirdre's must be so lonely being the sole review of Concord Cranberry!

I find it interesting that this ink is transparent -- you can actually see through a bottle of it.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
