Sheaffer Lavender NOS

The Older Sheaffer colors are very hard to scan in. The colors always seems to be WAY off. You might see the writing go from Dark to Light and back again. It is NOT the scanner, it is the poor flow of the ink. As soon as I was finished with my review, I washed out my pens and put some PR plum and the pens ran like a dream.

I have never had any issue with any NOS Sheaffer ink in regard to flow problems and Sheaffer Lavendar is a colour I am very fond of...it's what I use to write notes to special people on special occasions.

Your scanner really adds a purple hue to what is a rather soft colour... I'll add a sample in a bit to make a comparison between the scanner and camera. (Sample added)

The bottle I bought had some ink missing (evaporated) so that adds to the concentration of the Purple in the ink.

I'll have to post a sample of Lavender later also - in my pens it's what I think Viv would call a "chalky" color. Very soft but not so light as to be a strain on the eyes. It's the only Skrip I really like (though Chela got me to liking NOS blue-black in a flex nib).

I am enjoying all these ink samples/reviews. A nice treat for us ink fiends.

Hi KCat,

A nice treat for us ink fiends.

Yes, isn't it just. I love it, although I end up doing nothing else for hours but looking at all these posts  .

Anyway, thanks once more, NS!

Kind regards,

Thank you for the new image.

I ration all of my "red box" Sheaffer inks carefully, as they're the ones I'm most nostalgic about. That said, the new image makes me wonder how this compares to Sailor Fuji-Musume or Kobe Monet Violet.
