I have been searching for a while for a platinum line ball pen to carring around with my Le Grande FP should the writing need arise for a BP, can a RB be turned into a BP,
if so is it a matter of changing the refill as I have a RB already, I have loads of FP's but no experience of RB or BP, your assistance greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Another question I'd like to pose along with this one is - Does anyone know of a gel refill that will fit a BP or Roller Ball Meisterstuck? When I use my FP I don't press hard to make two copies.

You can also try the Monteverde gel refill for MB. It comes in fine and medium points.

Nope...a rollerball refill has a screw tip and the ball point pen has a spring in the tip...refills cannot be interchanged. You should get another writing instrument and you will always be ready either way...I use a rollerball when signing documents and checks and then a ballpoint in my "everyday life"...

ST Dupont makes several models that can be converted from roller ball to ball point to fiber tip.

Just wondering- where would a BP work that a RB would not?

Thanks,

This and Yafa (Monteverde is a sub-brand of Yafa) are the only options. I would stay away from them though. Although my first scribbling with Monteverde gel refill for MB ballpoint was very nice, the refill just did not work when I needed to write with it. I returned it and bought a B ballpoint refill by MB.

I use Parker gel refill, and I love it. Unless MB itself starts manufacturing a gel refill for their ballpoints, my MB ballpoint will not get a lot of use :(
