Just a note to introduce myself!
What to say! I suppose I have always had an appreciation for fountain pens, but it has only been in the past six months or so that I’ve decided to start collecting. Searching around on the web brought me in touch with the FPN, which has since been a great source of information and advice. Over the last few months I’ve spent hours just reading through various different posts and the thing that inspires me over and over again is the great enthusiasm and also the lovely sense of friendship that members share. For me these qualities are a really infectious combination.
I have also made a start and actually purchased a few FPs. It’s my intention over time to assemble two modest collections; a vintage collection, and a contemporary collection of new pens. Inspired by the efforts of fellow members and with your occasional advice and guidance, I’m also looking forward to learning more about the subtleties of this lovely and exciting task.
To date my collection has slowly increased to the princely total of 15 pens approx (both vintage and modern). I’m learning all the time and I don’t mind confessing that I’m beginning to drift off to sleep at night with dreams of winning our National Lottery and using the proceeds to furnish my collection even further. Ah, happy thoughts…… -_-
Anyway, just to say that I’ve summed up the courage to take plunge and move from the side lines to participate in the game. So, it’s great to meet you all.

Exactly jar, you got it in one. Vintage cars and vintage pens - the good life, eh?. ;) I'm sure the weather in Texas is a bit better for open top driving that here in Ireland. At least we can enjoy the fountain pens all year around!
Thanks for the welcome.

Hi Ed, from way south of the border. Wow, you have a great collection of pens  . There must be some good pen shops up North. There doesn't seem to be such a selection where I am. Ah well, live in hope!

Welcome to this great groop, MGB...
All this talk of MGBs takes me back a few years to when I had a lovely ol' '61 Jaguar MKII 3.8S...da#*, shouldn't have sold it....
Anyway, have a great time here.... :)
