As I've slowly waded into the world of fountain pens this past week, the information on this forum has served as my water wings. I'd like to thank all those who have contributed to such a fascinating and extensive body of information. My hat is off to you.

Welcome! Pity you just missed the pen posse dinner in San Francisco (our events are in the Clubs, Meetings, and Events forum -- the next bay area event is on the 14th).

Welcome Joe,
You'll find a lot of other fountain pen fanciers in Northern California. I'm in Richmond, but you'll find a thriving subculture here. FPN is a great resource as you're finding out.
Hope carries with it optimism, it conquers despair, it refuses to turn back even in the face of impossible odds. It enables us to believe in a vision of tomorrow that will be better than today. Every person that suffered the unspeakable or endured the unimaginable to achieve what was known to be impossible, and discover what others knew did not exist ... every one of these was imbued with Hope.

Welcome! There is a Pan Pacific Pen Club mtg this coming Saturday at the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield. Here's the notice that was mailed out to members:

"The next Pan Pacific Pen Club meeting will be Saturday, November 14th,

at: The Jelly Belly Factory, Fairfield CA. From 11: to 2:

Map: http://bit.ly/3V7z9Z

We have no speaker planned. We had hoped to hear from Osman Sumer, but he was not able to make this meeting.

We will talk about the dates for the next meeting the L.A. pen show will be February 11-14, around the time our next meeting would normally occur.

Directions: The Jelly Belly Factory is right off Highway 80 in Fairfield. There is also a snack bar, a factory tour for those interested, and a very well stocked candy store, with free jelly bean samples."

If you are anywhere close to the area and free on Saturday, you might pop in. Lots pens for sale. It's always fun to handle pens that you only otherwise read about. It's a friendly group. The PPPC is is addition to the less formal and always fun Bay Area Pen Posse gatherings.
