That's when I hit upon "Sherwood Forest" because I would suppose almost everyone's heard of that.
In naming, really didn't think of copyright stuff. Just an intersting name for an intersting color green.

Gah! "Old Forest" wouldn't have confused anyone, and would have made a great in-joke! Not to mention, it's not a term that lends itself to copyright infringement.

Tom,
I know you're a big Noodler's fan--so am I (big time). But I don't think you'll be disappointed by Diamine. I have about 12 of their colors, and I find them to be nicely saturated (which I love), with great flow.
Have fun! :)

Use in a fine nibbed, wettish pen (E.S. Perry Iridinoid 26 dip nib if you have one), or a Fine Parker 51 or Hero 100.
The result is a beautiful Oceanic Blue with a hint of green, with lots of shading and absolutely no feathering or bleeding on good paper.
Depending on your pen and paper, increase or decrease the amount of Majestic to suit.
If the Diamine people want to take that and run with it, I would name it Tropical Ocean Blue.

It's got a special little silver label with the WES logo, which made me think that surely a selection of FPN inks could be arranged? We would not of course have the great box and label which were part of the fun of the Noodlers editions, but then buying them direct from Diamine under these new bespoke arrangements would cut out all the administrative hassle that took up so much time.

If I were doing a line of inks, they would be different greys - a really under represented colour, IMO. And I would name them nostalgically after different types of London fog.
For instance there would be 'London Particular', which I see as a yellowish grey (a bit like my avatar), then 'Pea Souper' with a hint of green and of course 'The Great Smoke', after that notorious fog which hit London in the 1950s and killed hundreds. A whisper of red in that one, I think. 'Southwark Smog' might perhaps be a cool lilac-tinged grey, and lastly 'Brompton Bronchial' with the unmistakable trace of chesty brown sputum.
Any orders?

I just received my bottle of Sherwood Green today. Its awesome! I love it, well done, and thanks for letting us all know about it.
Can someone now beg Phil for a dark burgundy-plum? how about calling it 'Jack Horner's Plum'? :-)

I was going to post the same thing.
I think its similar to Black. They all have the name similar, mostly, but are indivual.

As I tried to explain, I was just curious when I asked the question. My sincere apologies to you if you think that I have sidetracked your thread and created a kerfuffle.

There is a little note now below the bespoke ink image on their main fountain pen ink page that notes that the bespoke inks must not be colors manufactured by other brands. I wonder if Phil has been getting a number of requests similar to "I would love to have a "specific color" like you find with "specific ink" in a Diamine bottle" !
Again it's really neat that Phil has started a bespoke ink option, Diamine is one of my favorite inks, and having such responsive customer service is only another reason for me to have them be. Still thinking of a ink color that would be perfect for me as an everyday ink!
