This is My first bulb filler fountain pen with clear ink tank and a hooded nib . It uses a Hero 616 Chinese nib and feed (A Parker 51 copy) , some clear acrylic , some Alternative Black Marble and a Baron clip .
My favorite pen of all times was a Parker 51 I had when I was in school , many moons ago , over the years the pen was lost . I've looked to replace it but have not been able to find one that I could afford . That pen is where I got my love for hooded nib fountain pens , they look very futuristic .
The front section was drilled in several steps to keep it as tight to the feed as possible . The ink tank is just a piece of acrylic rod I got from my local hobby shop and was drilled to accept the nib/feed as a press fit and then polished inside and out . The Blank is some Alternative Black Marble from Exoticblanks.com . The clip is from a kit because I couldn't find a clip to fit the cap . The bulb filler is a piece of the sac from the donor pen that I cut to fit inside the blind cap but is only temporary until I can get a smooth ink sac (this one leaks a little because of the ribs inside it) , they are on order but haven't come in yet .

Well done. I love hooded nibs & seeing someone actually succeed is an inspiration.

I do like the material you used, though I'm not quite so keen on the clear barrel (just a matter of personal taste).

Regards,

Richard.

Thanks for the kind words . I loved the P51 that I had when I was a kid and never lost that love of the hooded nib design . The Hero 616 gave me a good base to start with at a fantastic price . Brian Gray posted a bulb filler and I loved the design so I just put the two together to come up with this pen .
I got my new sacs and have fitted it in place of the one that was on there so no more leaks . I now have my very own version of a P51 . Next is a button filler version .

Butch,
Love the size. The blind cap really looks in proportion to the pen and the cap.
Can't wait to see the button filler version.

Very cool! I particularly like the marbled blind cap and nib section.

Hi,

Very nice pen !

Out of curiosity, do you sell the pens you make?
How much would you charge for one of these?

Regards,

JRD
