I have a Diamine color that'd be good, but I can't remember the name offhand, but I think it's Deep Magenta. Noodler's Cactus Fruit would also be good.
Levenger "Pinkly" comes right to mind. You might post a WTB ad to see if any members have a bottle that they would sell.

I think,
is called a Yink.
He likes to wink,
he likes to drink.
He likes to drink, and drink, and drink.
The thing he likes to drink
is ink.
The ink he likes to drink is pink.
He likes to wink and drink pink ink.
SO…
if you have a lot of ink, then you should get
a Yink, I think.

Well, I flushed the Quink Turquoise from the Pink Safari. I don't want it to get the impression that 1) It's my go-to always inked pen; and 2) That Quink turquoise is the only colour it gets - especially since we are in fact on an ink quest that doesn't stop at the 1st ink.
I thought that the impressions it had from the cheetah Pelican needed to be off-set: I don't sense that the Pink Safari is a speed demon, like the Pelican, and I certainly wasn't going to set-up the Pink Safari for failure by having it attempt something that is exceptional. That said, after the initial use - without any 'run-in' or conditioning - it was certainly capable of dashing off a card & wee note inside. It was a bit uncertain making the wee heart for V&O. Perhaps it works & thinks only in ASCII. I may just let it hang-out with the Sumi brush for an afternoon to off-set that notion. Hmm.
So I took the un-inked Pink Safari along with my work-a-day Sonnet freshly cleaned and fully inked with Quink BlBk to the office. It wasn't quite sure about the Pink Safari - "What's with the dead weight?" I said, "It needs a look see." The Sonnet dozed for the rest of the trip, warming itself & the ink in my pocket. The ink & the Sonnet agreed that it was 'gonna be one h*ll of a week'. The ink thought s/he'd be gone in a day - two at the outside, "might never see another sunrise". At that point I think the Pink Safari realized the importance of the duty of care for the ink.
The Sonnet had long ago mastered the art of riding an evelator, but the Pink Safari - even without ink - squirmed like it had to go.
After coffee I took the pens for a wee walk to the Reprographics Dept. where they run the serious printing equipment. The Pink Safari liked the old AB Dick press - because it had big trays of ink? No interest in printers running with toner or the ink-jet machines. That is until the operators finished their coffee and got the machines running at speed. Hot tamale Ahab - fully printed sheets just flying out of the machines. The Pink Safari didn't make a sound, and could barely blink.
Very interesting when the Pink Safari mentioned that 'they only print in black, and everything is the same.' Welcome to the mass-produced industrialized 'word'. I was starting to doubt the wisdom of bringing the Pink Safari to the office. The Sonnet tried to get me out of the hole I'd dug for myself, but no dice. It has more to do with ink than I thought.
Well, the rest of the day went by without a single homicide, and I had some ink left in the Sonnet. Ate something pretending to be dinner, then inked-up the Pink Safari with Turquoise. We drew lines and shapes and everything except ASCII characters; showed it lined and squared paper; even found some old 'triangular' graph paper. Traced my left hand, which turned out to be a bit too intimate - Pink Safaris can blush!! Did V&O get me a prudish pink pen on purpose?
The nib has a surprizingly large 'sweet spot', and seems to draw best when the pen is held at a somewhat steep angle to the (horizontal) paper, so I find that I'm gripping the pen far down the barrel - index finger dangling past the pre-formed finger grips. This position makes me 'bear down' on the nib, which is certainly contrary to its nature. Perhaps when writing words this tendency may diminish.
So now that I have a sense of the Pink Safari's attitude and nib characteristics, I really do think we're on the right track for ink. Rather strange that the preferred colours are almost opposite on the colour wheel.
- Looking at the Quink Turquoise and many other online samples, they seem to be colours related to water, and so appear a bit 'wishy washy'. The Turquoise I envision is the colour of the semi-precious stone that is often set in silver, lives in the high desert and has the hardness of stone but also its hypnotic qualities. (In a Carlos Castaneda-esque way?) May give Pelican & Visconti Turquoise an audition too. ...
- The other being Magenta : the Cactus Fruit looks pretty gritty, or a pure 'process' magenta, (can't seem to find one), familiar to those who have printers with CMY+Bk inks. A burgundy seems well worth investigating: but not anything too red.
- Also, for general principals, Shoreline Gold, Apache Sunset & Dragon's Napalm. (Also want to see if the Duofold shows any interest in them.)

Hello Kay,
I think we're pretty close on this.
The purple would have to be without a 'violet' aspect - a straight-up purple needs a look. I am going to look at a burgundy, if its not too red. The generous nib size makes the coverage on the page quite a bit greater than an M nib, so we have to be careful choosing amongst the more volatile colours.
Green has come & gone several times in the ink cupboard. At this time, the only surviving green is MB racing green. Far too dark for the Pink Safari. Very nice in a Fine nib pen.
OBTW: The Pink Safari's nib size is actually 'Generous' - not Broad. How can they use a vulgar term for a certain sort of women when referring to a nib? Both my 149 & the Pink Safari are embarrassed if not downright offended by that term. (When MB came out with an OOB nib, my 149 tried to hide in my casual sock drawer.)
Thanks!

Last eve I inked-up the Pink Safari with Turquoise, and doodled for a while on cheap & cheerful 20 lb. office bond. We did a lot of drawing. Some fast. Some slow. Round & round, and up & down. Just to see that ink flow and get my hand accustomed to the Pink Safari. Balance is slightly too far back - like the other Safari - Fair enuf really can't use it when the cap is posted. As expected, the nib has no flex, but writes very softly, making a clean line. I got shouted at a few times for being absent minded. Fair enuf, it was a hard day, and I wasn't giving the Pink Safari the attention it deserved. Gave it a flush, and back into the water bath for a cleaning.
I think that it doesn't mind the water at all, but really dislikes being taken apart. Yikes! That Pelican must've been bragging about being cleaned without being taken apart. Little trouble maker!
Today the shops should be open late, so the ink quest goes from the 'net onto the street. I wonder what tales the Pink Safari will tell the pens in the shop?
Best Regards,
Sandy1

Hilarious!!
Dr Hunter S Thompson is never all that far away. A short time ago I gently toasted (not flamed) a person for being insufficiently Gonzo.
If the Dr were to have used an FP instead of a typer, would he have shot the FP?
Do we need a poll to determine the most Gonzo of FPs?

Hello Andy,
Thanks for the suggestion. From the online sample swatch, that green appears quite dark - as you describe. When the time comes, I will try some MB racing green - recognizing that it is not Avocado - just to see the effect of a dark green. Also, the next time I go to the ink shop, I will ask them to do the Q-tip thing with some Avocado.
