As you know, the IP.Board software upgrade for the FPN website has introduced a few quirks. The admins are working on getting these squared away, but it will take some time.

The main problem is that I cannot edit the Pen Review Index until the IP.Board software issues are fixed. There is a tag parsing limit, whereby the URL tags stop getting parsed, leaving raw unlinked URL's in the text (to link, you'd have to manually copy/paste what you see, rather than clicking on a link). And we're also now facing a 5 image limit to all posts, and the index provides brand icons that rapidly exceeds that limit.

I know, the review hopper is filling up with your contributions which, by the way, are very much appreciated. Please bear with me on this. There isn't an estimate on this yet, but I'm trying to keep the pressure on the admin team without becoming a nemesis to them. Until the fix comes through, please continue to post your reviews. I'll try to come up with a workaround if the fix to this issue takes longer than I'm willing to tolerate. Thanks again for your patience.

I've experienced the same issue when playing with tags formatting of an update on my (loooong!) post over the history of Italian fountain pen producers.

Actually after I experienced the issue I went to the review index to look if you got the same problem! That's why I think it is a problem with too long posts: after some point the formatting is lost and displayed on screen as is like instead of bold you see [ b]bold[/b]... hopefully this will be fixed but the workaround exists: to split the text between multiple post.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I'm also thinking that you're onto something Diplomat, that there's some kind of buffer issue. Hopefully it is something that can be reconfigured. I'll pass this onto the admins... :)

It's an Aurora 80th Anniversary. :) I owned it for a while, hardly used it, then sold it to another FPN member. I hope one day to own it again, once I'm financially in the black.

Anyway, I was using those photos to test image loading limits. We're capped at 5 images per post, unfortunately. Still awaiting to hear from the admins on what we can do about that... :huh:

Please note that all existing reviews that contain more than 5 LINKED images in a single post will NOT show images. Thus, you'll see either blank space or "image has been deleted" type messages. Attached messages still show. It appears that the number restriction does not apply to pre-existing uploaded images.

Again, this is something that the admins are trying to resolve. It must be some kind of configuration setting, as it is illogical for IP.Board software to go backwards on capabilities. Please bear with us...

i have 10 linked images in my lamy 2000 review and they all show up myu, and then all 7 in my review of the lamy accent brilliant show up. does it have something to do with photo sharing sites?

Interesting... well, it shouldn't be the photo sharing site (PhotoBucket), as I've no problem with multiple photos linked on other websites. However, I've checked again and the photos are now showing--all of them! It must be that our IT admin has gotten around to addressing this problem.

I'm still waiting to hear back on the editing issue. Until then, the index remains as-is with a long list of updates pending. :(
