Specs of Webnotebook: 5.5”x8.25” with 192 Pages and 7mm spacing (the Moleskine large is 6mm, Clairefontaine is 8mm, Rhodia staple pads are 7mm) Price is $19-$20
Size of Rhodia 2010 Large Planner: 6”x9”, made in USA by QuoVadis- for Rhodia. Price is $19-20
MHO (my honest opinion) of the Large Webnotebook…
The Larger of the Rhodia Webnotebooks is very nice quality. They have a spongy, soft, leather-like material for the cover. The elastic “web” is loose on the back, not like the Habana which is tight to the rear of the cover when not “webbed” over the cover.
The paper is a slight yellow- and is extremely smooth. It’s the heavier 90g Clairefontaine weight- not the 80g used in the Staple-Bound pads. You’d need a paintbrush to get bleed-through. The lines are 7mm in the larger Webnotebook- and I believe 6mm in the smaller version of this notebook. The rulings do not bleed to the edges like Moles or Clairefontaines… this non-bleed looks cleaner IMHO. On the bottom corner of the sheets there is a Rhodia logo. Also- there’s a ribbon to bookmark. I don’t care for them- but I know a lot of people like them.
The cover itself is stiff similar to a Habana notebook- not “hard” like the Mole… but in no way too “soft.”
Since it is brand new- the signatures are a little tight- but with some use, it’ll lay flat.
The first and last sheets are a nice orange color in the orange notebook- and black in the black versions. Also the orange is not as vibrant as the Staple-Bound Rhodia pads.
Nice notebook for sure… it would be PERFECT for me if Rhodia offered it in 5x5 as well as 7mm lined.
As for the 2010 Large Rhodia Planner…
For starters- the planner is not made in France by Rhodia- it is made by QuoVadis in the USA for Rhodia- with the 90g paper- which is heavier than the 80g used in the Rhodia Staple-Bound pads.
I would have liked it if the Webnotebook reviewed above and the planner were the same size- like the Mole planner and notebooks. It just looks cleaner when they are used together.
Not only are the sizes different from the Rhodia planner to the Webnotebook- but the cover on the planner is much softer than the cover of the Webnotebook. You can tell they are made by two different companies.
I’d say the 2010 Large planner is basically a softer-covered QuoVadis Habana with a Rhodia logo on it. This is by no means bad- QuoVadis planners are awesome- especially the Notor Habana.
On the rear, the elastic band “web” sticks tight to the rear of the planner if not in use- which I prefer to the loose web of the Mole or the Webnotebook mentioned above.
Overall- I will use the 2010 Rhodia planner this upcoming year… I have given up the Mole planner 2 years ago for the Notor by QuoVadis. And as for the Webnotebook- Since I use FPs only- and prefer 7mm (the Habana is 8mm)--- it looks like this is going to be my new STANDARD.
Both products are top quality and worth the money 100% IMHO.
