The image below shows one of the reasons I've been giving broad nibs a long, hard look recently. Some of my early, inky disappointments were apparently just waiting for the right nib to come along. Duh!

Ahhhhh. Another convert to the "B side" - Mwuu ha ha ha ha ha!

If you like Bleu Nuit in a B nib, just wait 'til you try it in an IB or stub! :cloud9:

You have wonderful handwriting. I like both samples. I prefer the extra fine, possibly because it is what I am most used to seeing from my pens as well. I have thought about trying broader nibs, but a Western fine is as big as I have gone thus far. Have you found that it takes a practiced hand to get the wider nibs to look pretty?

You've been goading me along, you know. Now there's a Deluxe Waterman Carene stub about to head my way. Where will this end?!

That sample was the first thing I wrote with a broad nib after the ink started flowing well. My writing can be humongous at least compared to the correspondence I've received from FPNers. :P As it turns out the wide nib fits pretty well with my natural hand. The only adjustment I made was to eliminate any swirls and flourishes. I think those extras look better when executed with either a narrow/fine line or with a varied width line. Maybe when I get more familiar with the B nib, I'll add the occasional doodad or whirl. For now we're just getting acquainted. ;)

Just how "broad" does the nib have to be to qualify? :hmm1:

Impressive especially a round nib that is 1.1 or larger. If we're only talking stubs and italics, 1.1 or larger is a nice though substantial size. Who makes a decent stub or italic nib of that dimension besides Lamy that won't break the bank? Several of my inks would be perfect for such a chunky monkey.

Nice hand writing, I prefer the look of the stuff written with the lamy, but then that's just beacuse I like thin writing.

This also makes me want to get some Bleu Nuit!

After seeing this, I MUST have a broad-nibbed pen!
