Romet Pisa

Recommended Posts

I've had the Romet Pisa White Quartz resin pen for about a couple of weeks now. The cap screws off and on to the end when posted. The clip is spring loaded. It's a smooth writer with moderate wetness from the Schmidt M iridium point nib. The fittings are all metal. It's not a light pen, but if you like a solid pen, you might want to give this one a try. The writing sample I've posted is actual size using Noodler's Polar Blue Bullet Proof ink (the actual writing sample is several shades darker than this). I like this pen.

Is this pen romanian made? Looks very nice, material, tip and writting result. The rear end looks like it is a piston filler but then it is a converter? Is this correct? Or is it sort of like the Sheaffer Intigues, a converter that you can fill from the outside as it it was a piston filler?. I like the handwritten sample. What's the nib size?

This is a piston converter which has a round rubber seal and a twist screw mechanism which draws the ink up through the nib. You can't fill the converter from the top with ink. The black part on the right end of the converter is the plastic piece you twist to fill it. The pen also comes with a standard “short” European ink cartridge. The pen has a medium steel nib with an iridium tip. Romet is an Italian company.

Thanks, PolarPaul! We need to get more reviews of lesser-known pen companies, such as this one, here so we can expand our tastes...

Nice photos! Please post some more reviews!

Thanks, PolarPaul, for your review. I have been eyeing this pen as well. I have a Romet Emperor in the Confetti finish that I like using.

Welcome to FPN!

  • 1 month later...

i saw the black one at isellpens.com (no affiliation) and it looks good and the price was right... but...

...i don't know, but it looks as if the thread in the section for the cap is too low and makes the grip uncomfortable. it's that the case?

also, how many turns to unscrew the cap and post?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
