  2. All 13 types of urushi grip section development are completed. As of now, I will end the urushi grip development. grip section for Urushi is designed in such way, urushi process is easier & urushi durability is better, compared to a regular grip section design. also, urushi grip section is thinner than a regular one. because, urushi layers will make the part thicker. even thread size is carefully considered for urushi process tolerance. So far this year, I've completed... 11 types of ebonite feeders dodecagon cigar symmetry (for urushi) diamond dodecagon cigar symmetry (for urushi) 13 types of urushi compatible grip sections from now on, i will reduce fountain pen research, and focus more on production of non-urushi / urushi fountain pens. thank you 3 additional types have been completed, since the last posting: Hourglass Arc Full Arc Full Arc Pipe From Left: Hourglass Short Hourglass Curvy Vintage Taper Vintage Arc One-Piece Pipe Vintage Thick Caterpillar Arc Fine Caterpillar Arc One-Piece Thick Arc Hourglass Arc Full Arc Full Arc Pipe

    NEW Kawaco Sport Piston Filler

My most anticipated pen this year! I really didn't want another pen with a proprietary cartridge and the ink capacity of the converter is very small. This, on the other hand, changes everything. I can use whatever ink I want to use.

Kaweco AL SPORT Piston Filler Black

I came here to post this video. I see you beat me to it. 😄 Michael from Kaweco answers a lot of questions, such as why it took so long, does the cap from other Sports fit, and much more.

    Kaweco Sport Piston

Thanks for the great review. This is my most anticipated pen! I was always on the fence about Kaweco, but this one caused me to fall over on that side. Hopefully, they will be in stock, here, in a week or two. I wonder what the street price will be?

A Review of the Conid Minimalistica

Thank you @senzen. I'm with you on this, even when my rational sense of humor isn't. I'll likely snag a Kakari Black PVD with a Kodachi equivalent nib, before embarking on another pen-skippabatical.

Thank you so much @Paul-in-SF. And thank you again for introducing us to the Kakari.

A Review of the Conid Minimalistica

Thank you @Muchacho. I have a KOP PG, it's the nib that's nice. The pen is otherwise standard, or could be even sub-standard if you compare it with the kind of plating that Montblanc/Pelikan use. 18 YO MB146 vs 7 YO Sailor PG. Check this out. Asvine P36 uses a bock housing for the stock nibs too. It may be a pain removing the original housing. I just used a FNF housing to for a sailor #6 nib and feed.
  11. Thank you so much for your very kind and wonderful words. I meant to post a photo using the bright basement lighting. I filled the pen down there while tending to laundry. I didn’t take the iPhone with me, so no photo. But I can always write on my Tomoe paper inserts, and post in the Stub of the Day 2 thread.

A Review of the Conid Minimalistica

To be honest, I can't disagree with you. If any stock of Purple Rain was available, I would have done the same. But the humor of my situation was overwhelming.
  13. Unusual! I don't recall seeing that before.

    Dip feed

Thanks for all the fine advice. I’ve looked at Tom’s studio and their feeds come close to the feed I am looking for. To answer the question why I am doing what I am doing: I simply want to gain absolute mastery bc I’ll eventually copy our family crest with detailed heritage, which was originally done in feather and dip pen as I’ve been told. Learning to write right handed is one thing but then developing reliable and aesthetically pleasing penmanship is a whole different can of ink. But I’ve fallen in love with dip pens and want to focus on that. I am clearly a noobie as I have not seen the technology that Tom’s offering. More stuff to learn

What pen(s) are you using today?

The MUJI Aluminium fountain pen is pretty difficult to get these days; MUJI in Australia now only ranges the Polycarbonate fountain pen, which is effectively a plain white Platinum Preppy. I asked staff in the Sydney CBD store, and was told that the product hasn't been officially discontinued per se; it's just there isn't stock of it anywhere. I'll see if I can find any in MUJI stores when I'm in Osaka and Kyoto. The biggest ‘flaw’ of the Aluminium fountain pen, from what I've read, seems to be the quality of the ink in the supplied cartridge in the retail package. If you're happy enough with the performance of the ink as-is, so much the better! Have you tried a Lamy cp1? I find it's even better — less cold to the touch, and the absence of the section with the rough finish makes it even more comfortable to hold and write with. The only thing is that the Schmidt F nib on the MUJI Aluminium fountain pen probably writes finer than any Lamy EF nib out-of-the-box.

What pen(s) are you using today?

Today's journal pen is a Muji with a fine nib, its ink is the cartridge that with it. I'm surprised how comfortable this is to hold - kinda skinny with the tiny grip section - it works for me.
  18. I always enjoy your post MsFit. 😀👍 I forgot what a Conklin Duragraph Abalone Nights looks like and had to look it up. Very nice looking pen. 👍😀 That's quite a switchl 'D'. From an M800 to a M101N. 😀 Of course CluelessMe didn't know what the Lizard version looked like so I had to look it up like I did for MsFit's Duragraph. Wow, what a nice compact beautiful pen that is. Of course I immediately wanted one... 🤪
