Vintage or Modern: Pelikan

Anyways, on to what I believe was the main question being asked. I almost always go for a vintage Pelikan over a modern one. I strongly prefer the nibs on the old Pelikans over the new ones, especially since they changed over to Bock. The vintage obliques actually give nice line variation, many of the vintage nibs gave pleasing flex, and in general they are just responsive and great writers. IMHO, the new nibs made by Bock are smooth and bland, I just don't find any joy in using them. Since Pelikan has kept the styling almost the same for the last 50 years or so, you can get a vintage Pelikan that practically looks like a new one. The only thing that some people might not like about the vintage Pelikans is that they are often short and light if the cap isn't posted. When the cap is posted, they seem to be a good size for most people.
As always go with what you like, because in a hobby like this one, nothing matters except what you think.
