Here is my another Pilot makie pen. This pen joins my other 2 Pilot makie: Mt. Fuji and Matsu.

The package: Great presentation and a complimentary ink. By looking at the presentation package, I can sense the quality the pen maker puts into the pen.

The makie work: Togidashi Hira makie technique is used for this pen, similar to my other pen Mt. Fuji. Compared to my other Makie pens created by different techniques, this makie work is very smooth to the touch; but, I can still feel the raised surface for the makie work.

The pen and nib: The nib size is #10 for this makie series pen and I chose M, which is close to a Western F. The filling system is the cartridge/converter setup. The pen cames with the CON-70, similar to the Custom 845 Urushi's CON-70. Based on my initial dip test, the pen writes smoothly. This pen can be a great daily writer; but, the makie work is so pretty on this pen and I hesitate to put it in my daily rotation.

Reference pictures:
Matsu (this is a plastic body with a Hiramakie; the nib is #5)
Mt. Fuji (this is in the same class as the Phoenix.

Very nice. I have the Fuji too. Although they are probably more durable than we think I don't take mine out much either. Thanks for sharing.

I have the Phoenix too. It just looked too nice to resist. It is also a good writer, but mostly I just look at it. :cloud9:
