I just spotted this on FPGeeks and was surprised no one had posted it here. I was hoping for a metallic orange, but I can't wait to see what it looks like in reality.

Not for me. My wife will like it though!

Compared to the fluorescent yellow they've reportedly set for the Safari, this one comes as a relief. I think it's nice.

I was told about this via a Lamy rep a little while ago. It is classed as Champagne and looks very nice. I will be adding one to my collection.

I was hoping for a purple or brown Safari! The more I look at the Al Star, the more I am drawn to the colour.

I am so doomed. There is at least one of these in my future.

Lamy may give it different names for different countries like the Shiraz or Black Purple Al-Star.

I quite like the look of it and I suspect it will only grown on you the more to see it.

Not to me! I think that a bright fluorescent yellow suits the style of the Safari (and probably me).

Generally I'd rather save $8 and get a lighter, thinner, resilient, shock-absorbant ABS pen with better gaskets that won't get horribly scratched up, but I think I'm going to be taking the plunge on this one! Heard it's going to be a permanent addition to the Al-STar line.

I didn't get the 2012 Green Safari yet, but I'm gonna get this. Definitely.

It will stay home and not get scratched or dinged.

I've got mine with an EF nib. I really like it, will look lovely inked with a Diamine Raw Sienna and Noodlers Black ink.
