Goulets 8^)

So I got my Goulet package this morning and its worth repeating again... They are GREAT!

I order my second TWSBI Mini (this time in broad) and it is very smooth. I have owned almost all the different TWSBIs and I just love the minis. I also got a bottle of Iroshizuku chiku-rin ink. Nice color and well behaved.

SOOOO not only was my items packaged perfectly in Goulet's famous death grip of wrapping but they included some Jelly Beans! How cool is that. YUM YUM YUM

Happy Writing Everyone!

Another thumbs up on Goulet's way of suffocating pens. Love smothering them in bubble wrap, preserving their bodies for their first drop of ink! :D

And that personal touch is also very nice. Love ordering from them, just need to save up for it!

Goulets are great. I have gotten several small jelly bean packs in my orders. They also do a fantastic job of wrapping your orders. Dexter has nothing on the Goulets when it comes to shrink wrapping their victims I mean orders. Sorry, been watching to much TV.

+1 on the excellent service from Brian and Rachel and the staff. This is the right way to run an internet business!

Not knocking anyone else, mind you, we are lucky to have a good selection of excellent vendors to choose from, and I have had no complaints about any of the first tier. But I think I may have bought more pens, at least by sheer numbers, from the Goulets than any other.

Hummmm. I do need to get my first Lamy 2000 sooner or later...

Oh my!

Now I have this image of Dexter switching over to blue shrink wrap . . . and placing orders to the Goulets, just to examine technique . . .

It's possible that the elaborate protective wrapping is not so much to protect the merchandise as it is to get us to appreciate it more by making us work for it.

My last order from them was some ink, and they included a tootsie pop. Probably hadn't had one of those in forty plus years.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
