(Leather) Composition Book Cover

It occured to me that somebody should make a leather cover that holds a composition book. That way, you could have something that is inexpensive but doesn't look that way. I checked one of the Internets and found one, for $45. Then it occured to me that somebody else should make one of these covers.

If the link doesn't work, they call it Notabilia Notebook with Leather Cover, $74, ADS2705. The refills are Notabilia Notebooks, 2 for $18.
Poor name. You have to read the description to realize they are composition notebooks with high quality paper.

If all else fails, this sounds like the kind of thing that might not be horribly tough to make yourself. All you need is to figure out how to do that leather-working stitch thing. I don't know what it's called, but any kit or book from Tandy leather should be able to teach you that. That's how I learned it - making a tandy leather craft shoulder bag. And I suck at sewing-type crafts, so that just goes to show it's pretty easy :-)
Whatever you choose, do post the end result, it sounds like it will be a sight for sore eyes hehe
