Cool. You saved me the effort of doing one myself.

 

I absolutely love this ink! Not only does it have all the properties so needed for my line of work (no showthrough, permanent), but it allows me to lay down a very fun and whimsical colour of ink on medical charts, yet withing a couple of days, everything I have written is a nice, sober green-black. It is perfect for my uses.

I've been really curious about this ink--in particular about how green it still looks after it oxidizes. Do you know how long the paper was sitting before you took the picture?

 

I love the look of Darkening Absinthe in this review and in Pharmacist's calligraphy, but I'm worried that when I look at my notes later on I'll see a color not terribly distinguishable from the black or blue/black which I may have also used on the page.

 

 

Either way, thanks for doing these reviews of Pharmacist's colored inks! I've been quite curious about them.

This color has become my favourite. I actually like it best after it has had time to fully darken.

Amazing color. Would like give it a try.

 

Unfortunately, Pharmacist seems to have fallen off the planet. A couple of years ago he had a batch go bad, and then his dad was hospitalized for a while. Then he resurfaced just long enough to say that he was traveling a lot for work (he lives in Belgium).

I really wish that his life settles down enough to start brewing ink again -- he was the first one, AFAIK, to be playing around with IG colors besides blue-black.

If you like Darkening Absinthe, you should see Turkish Night, which starts as cyan and oxidizes to green :wub: -- and much as I hoped it would be a substitute, KWZI IG Turquoise is just NOT the same. Sigh.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
