Hi everyone. I am new here and well this is a first. I recieved my bottle of Liberty's Elysium yesterday and have been spellbound by it. It is magnificent. I love it. Here is my quick take on it. I did not have my other bottles of blue with me to do a comparison :headsmack:

Beautiful ink. I got a bottle in a lucky trade. I hope the Goulets can get more soon. I will order.

Same here, I'm liking it more every day. I have a lot of blues, really a lot, but none like this. Works very well in dry-writing fine points.

Very nice! I'm a blue lover and this is my new favorite. I'm on my second sample vial. Its water resistance, smoothness, and quick drying seal the deal. Hope to get a bottle when it's restocked before the reformulation.

Agreed in all respects. This is a good all-arounder with a nice true blue color. Will probably be a constant in my ink arsenal as long as it's produced.

Thanks everyone :)

I have been writing more and more with this and so far I am loving it in a fine to extra fine pen even more. It shades no matter what. As promised a comparison with some of my other favorite blues. I don't think my scan does them justice...

how about a water test?

You are right about water tests.... BUT Goulets deserve real respect by all means. They issued a video explaining everything. This honors them.

Despite, I have sent to Noodler's email for some problems among my 40 Noodlers inks, but I never received a reply. This is not a way to honor customers. On the contrary, Goulets publicly explained everything, although someone else should give these explanations.

No idea what your problems were, but some googling may help. I dunno. I would imagine if I was Mr. Noodler, I'd rather be doing what I love; making inks. I think sometimes people forget what a gift having someone try to replicate lost inks or make cool colors contributes to the fp community; we get caught in petty nitpicking...

I can't recall anyone reporting receiving a reply to an email to Nathan -- maybe some have, but he just doesn't seem to use that medium much.

On the other hand, lots of people have posted about telephoning him and having long conversations. His fondness for the telephone is well known and has even been used by a very few people here to suggest calls that could have no purpose but to harass him.

My dear friend every bottle of the 40 Noodler's I have, is paid more than 20USD, due to shipping cost.

I do not have other inks except Noodler's. I have a problem in three of them. The seller told me that he forwarded my problems to the company. He (the seller) never received a reply.

I made an email through Noodler's site. I never received a reply.

I just wonder... what is the purpose of having this "contact" in the site? I never asked Nathan to contact me. I just want answers Which I think I am entitled. On the other hand these might help the company.

I am sure Nathan has not received my questions due to his "partners". My email (by default) was to http://noodlersink.com/contact/

As you can understand there is nothing personal. Instead of feeling a "valued customer" I feel as a "beep" customer...

OK as requested. Here is the comparison page soaked. I soaked it good and plenty for what seemed like 15minutes.

When I bent the tip of the nib on my Konrad, I contacted Noodler's via their website to ask where to get a replacement. I got email back from Dick Egolf of Luxury Brands the same day (and that being on Memorial Day, a US federal holiday, at that) offering to send me a replacement nib *and* feed -- at no charge.

So, in my (admittedly limited) experience, they are responsive to consumer issues.

Mind you, I wasn't saying "I have issues with your products" -- I was saying "I screwed this up and need to know how I can go about fixing it". And I would have been perfectly happy to have paid for the replacement nib (and in fact had expected to do so).

I appreciate it gama. Thank you.

LE is such a lovely colour. I don't own it yet (I'll), but it appears to me it performs better than many other blues on the same shade.

BSB has no UV resistance, and LE has no water resistance...... you just cannot have it all, can you!

Why.... WHY it is so difficult to make such a blue with the dessired characteristics...... why?

I mean, it can be done in all colours, from black to yellow even.

WHY-NOT-BLUE-?-?-?

But that's me, who likes waterproofness.

Besides that, i totally love it.

A Fountain Pen is never just a Fountain Pen.

I think it has to do with the chemical characteristics of the blue dyes that are used to make the inks being less resilient.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
