Great review of a great ink! I love this stuff and quite agree that it loses a lot of its purple tinge as and after it dries. There's something about Diamine's Kensington Blue too. It was the WES named stuff for a while. As I write with that it goes on turquoise but once it's dry, there you have an excellent, if possibly a little unadventurous mid blue.

Great inks both.

I agree. I have to be in the right mood to appreciate its inconstancy. Excellent review, especially the comparisons.

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

I recently finished a full bottle and I really liked it. A nice blue, but a little too purple in my pen and paper combination.

I am glad you were able to give it a review. It's an interesting ink that I feel was meant to match Aurora Blue.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy.       I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
