I ran into an Ebay ad selling an Exception ballpoint for $475.22 + $14.07 shipping fee, and sadly in "mint" condition, not new! Dear God.
BTW, I couldn't help but emailed this seller and asked why on earth he would sell a ballpoint at such price . What are some of the most ridiculous price you've seen for Waterman fountain pens on Ebay? Someone brought up the Phileas for $150 in another thread, quite shocking, but not unusual for that seller. I wonder if those folks who buy pens on Ebay are as educated as us FPNers about the market prices.
Ebay is no longer an auction system it is a Buyer Beware system. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. You have to (MUST) know a little about what you intend to buy.
Pens are not my only love and I could point you to an item that is counterfeit which currently stands at 3 times the price of an original item. I have Reported it to eBay 10+ times but they have not, as yet, removed it. It is clearly obvious to me and others in the know that it is fake yet ebay take no action. They have their cut and that's the bottom line.
I must be honest and also add it can swing the other way...you see something incorrectly described at a low price and you try desparately to acquire it...well I do anyway. 'orses for courses.
Just did a UK Bay search and this
one appears...but it does have a small imperfection.
