New, used? Modern, vintage?

Do you mind what sort of nib?
Do you just want any MB or something that will write well?

You can probably find one of those turquoise student Montblanc's for under $50. I have one and it's fine. Doesn't hold much ink but it works okay and it's a really pretty color. LOL
I think I got mine used off here. It was about $30, I think.

For piston fillers, I recently got two Monte Rosa 042s and they write great. Both well under $100 after shipping.

Also great are MB 342's, about $120-150, but not "cheapest" since they usually are shipped from Germany.

+1 - this was my first MB pen. Got it at a discount because of an engraving, but it writes like a dream.

That is exactly what MB is trying to do - remove the word 'Cheap' from MB user's dictionary.

MBs are cheap relative to each other or maybe some other German / Italian Brands. By any other standards the word cannot be used for them.

I would have used 'least expensive'.

Classic MB look and snow star cap FP would be a modern 144 (used) or a vinatge Monte Rosa though.
Enjoy your pens
Have a nice day

How little money do you want to spend?
Noblesse and Generations are the red headed stepchildren of the MB world

Acutally this is my current correct answer. I recently got a No. 32 with slightly bent nib for about &50. I am optimistic to get the nib serviced for ~$30 so that the total for the working No. 32 will be under $90. :roflmho:

I have a Generations and I believe it's their entry-level piece. It's also one of my favorite pens - writes far better than the Meisterstuck (am I going to catch heck for that statement?). Buy with confidence, I love mine.
