I used this - back then! The current ink isn't the same at all and I've hardly used any out of the bottle I bought some months ago. I've been using Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black when I want a black but might try the Waterman soon. Maybe one day a Noodler's one but that's going to be a while hence.

Have you had your's some time?

The bottle was from my parents school days, so its been sitting around for quite some time, this bottle was brandnew unopened though. Hopefully the bottle should last a decent amount of time, although using it everyday for exams I will use it much quicker :)

Time for some more comments, at the end of the day, you wan't to know weather the ink is any good or not for everyday writing. SO thats what i'm going to 'try' and focus on.

Here is an extract of some notes from a school book that i took today, this is the type of thing that i'm going to be doing everyday, with the pen and the Ink.

Its a nice, ink. Its got a very difintive smell, my English Teacher today, walked past and could smell the ink on the page and asked if it was 'Quink Black ink' and i replied with a yes :)

It dries a little slow, which is anoyying but workable, by the time i finished writing a page i can turn it and its all dry and everything which is fine.

It feathers a tad more than the Washable blue Carts, which again isn't really a problem and it isn't noticeable unless you look for it.

Its dark, really, dark, so it does stand out on the page which is useful, its easy to read on all of the papers/sheets and photocopy's i've written on so far.

its not waterproof at all, i spilt some water onto a page in a Science lesson today, and it just ran and faded really quick, so need to be careful of that.

Its a pretty good Ink, it works great, and i have a fairly large chunk of it left, so i'm going to be using it regardless :)

If anyone wants any other info or anything, let me knoww!

Simon

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
