I just wanted to put up a quick listing of this ink for posterity, rather than a detailed review since it is vintage from the 1960's. Interestingly, these plastic bottles are heavy enough that there has been no significant evaporation over all these years. This is marked as made in Germany. It performs very well on this paper. It lists having "Super Cleaner-16" as one of it's secret components--and that classic sweet smell of phenol that was used so commonly in almost all inks. The color is lighter on paper than a cup of coffee looks, but it gives some nice shading.

Even like after 50 years, this ink has performed so nicely. That's a great ink and has a "wow" factor for sure. I love the colour.

The Wet Noodle has performed very well indeed.

Looks like a variation of the Carlo Collodi ink. Very pleasant!

 

Yeah, but I contrasted it in the review of Collodi. It is more brown than orange which I didn't do a very good job capturing with the images.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
