Online Highway Of Writing

Here's the text if it doesn't show up well.

As I recently was reminded of Online Brand pens I did a quick look on FPN to see if anyone had done any reviews. Almost none!! So I thought I'd review my own Online pen.

I have an Online Highway of Writing with the standard medium nib. It was purchased in Sweden as a gift so I have no idea how much it costs.

Appearance: 8. This is a neat little pen. I love the box it came in, more of a tin really. I think the tin reminded my mom of me and that's why she picked this pen. The grip section is very small and hard to use even with my small hands.

Construction: 9. Really sturdy pen. I don't know the cost as a gift from my mom, so I can't say value except that I think it is invaluable.

Weight: 7. This is top heavy when posted, but a little short if not posted. I can easily write non-posted but I would get tired because it is quite small.

Nib: 8. Fairly wet and nice medium. Haven't really seen more nibs but this brand isn't well known in the US.

Filling system: 3. Couldn't find a converter for about 3 months!! (got the pen a year ago). When I got the converter it was way to long (even though said the website said it would fit). My dad had to saw it down.

Value: Invaluable because it was a gift. But really is a great little pen. I just ordered some cartridges to try next week but I have been using it for 8 months with my hacked converter.

Sorry I had trouble with the photos. The 2nd one attempts to show how we modified the convertor. roflmho.gif

Thanks so much for this! I'll get it included in the index this weekend.

I really like the converter chop. That's something I would do right there.

Do you have any other pens you could photograph it next to to show size comparison?

I like the outward design of this pen - and yes, I should be interested in dimensions too.

Sincerely, beak.

WHOA that thing is SMALL. Thanks very much for that. I would have guessed it to be closer in size to the Libelle you pictured, but it's shorter than the Noodlers!

At least it has a nice girth.

Thanks for the comparison shot - it is smaller than I imagined. Does the cap post okay?

Sincerely, beak.

The cap wobbles when posted if you don't get it on there right. It isn't that awful, but posting also makes it really back heavy...Good to write quick messages but for all day, I think it would be annoying..

Watch_Art...that would be cool...but it is tiny...I am bringing it with me on a big trip because it is so small. I hope the standard Online cartridges I ordered from Goulets fit...mellow.gif

Hi, Marvin! Almost all the pictures have vanished (at least from my version of this thread), so I can't see your converter conversion. Can you give me more details about that, please? Such as - which converter you began with and exactly how your dad sawed it down? I can't quite envision what he did. Exactly what part did he saw off? The tip of the screw end, I assume. Corrrect?

Thanks!!

Sorry about the images disappearing...I'm not very good with the attachments here.

that is the hack my dad did. He took the normal convertor, I thlnk I found it on Goldspot a few years ago, or maybe Fountain pen Hospital, but I don't see the convertors online anymore. He just cut down the back until it would fit. And when filling, I can't fill all the way, but just twist until the black part is even.

Hope this helps!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
