Don't miss the chance to own this comprehensive guide of actual "handwritten" (not printed or reproduced) ink samples!

Finally I have finished part IX with again many new, different ink colors from brands like Diamine, Noodler's Exclusive Inks, Limited Edition Sailor, Artisian Pastellier ... inks.

Take a look at the list of listed inks below:

  • 12 new Diamine inks
  • 7 new De Atramentis inks
  • 24 Artisian Pastellier inks
  • 8 Noodler's Exclusive inks (Jetpens, Art Brown, FPH)
  • 8 new Pelikan inks inclduing the Edelstein and Highlighter inks
  • 6 Private Reserve inks (including the new Sepia and Rose Rage)
  • 6 Sailor inks including the summer LE
  • 3 Schneider inks and
  • 9 Winsor & Newton Drawing inks (for dip pens only)

Price for one booklet is 15 Euros or US $ 20 (ask for a discount in case you are interested in more parts) + actual shipping costs to where you live.

This is one of the most complete collection of modern and vintage hand written fountain pen ink samples available today.

Save yourself lots of $$$ trying to find the perfect ink colors by yourself.

All ink samples are hand written with the same nib on bright white paper cards for best color comparison.

Many dicontinued inks listed so you can compare to the ones which are still in production to find matching substitutes for Sheaffer Persian Rose, Parker Penman Sapphire, Pelikan Cyan Blue or Cherry Red.

This series will be continued c. every year with all the new and vintage ink colors I’ve added to my collection (I've already started to work on part X).

Most older volumes are still available:

Please feel free to contact me any time if you are interested in complete lists of inks listed in the older volumes or have more questions.

Cheers

Parts 5-9 are still available as well as a very limited number of part 1 and 4. Currently I don't have parts 2 and 3 available but could redo those if a few people are still interested in them.

Cheers

These are a truly wonderful resource. :notworthy1: ::notworthy1: They give a huge selection and fill that void left by Greg Clark's former Ink Sampler.

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
