Didn't see a topic started yet on February's drop -- just received mine; great choices (as usual!) and every one a new try for me -- can't wait to dip them up!!

oooh, I am at work right now so I don't know if mine are waiting at home or not. What are we getting this month? I am assuming reds for valentines day.

this year, or this month, or, more likely, this very day, we have failed to practice ourselves the kind of behavior we expect from other people.

Well, "My Inky Valentine" was the theme (I'm pretty sure that's in the public domain at this point; actual colors go "public" next Tuesday maybe? :))

Mine arrived yesterday, but my inability to use any of them stemmed from all the random business that arose from work. Maybe soon.

A nice bouquet of valentine-y colors.

Mine arrived just today, and I'm so happy. I wanted to try all these colors!

I'll come up with something eventually.

Got mine today, and its a great theme! I've tried two of the colors so far and they are both nice.

Is there a reason why no one is actually naming the colors?

Goulet Pens. For a monthly fee of $10 you get five themed ink samples every month plus discounts. It's fun.

Official announcement is usually on the 7th, so there's enough time for everyone to get the surprise (usually doesn't work internationally though, delivery takes about 2 weeks, so its mostly to accommodate the US InkDrops) of the monthly colours!

What is this ink drop - an ink sampling service? Where would one look to find out more please?

M

As heraclitus682 said, it's by Goulet Pens. More information is here. I like it because not only do I get to try a lot of colors, I get to try a lot of brands. Like for February, we got ink from three ink companies!

I'll come up with something eventually.

So you are just suppose to keep it hush-hush as a group. I get it.

Just until the 7th, so as not to ruin it for anyone who wants it to be a surprise. It's not like it's a super secret club or anything. There's a thread in "Inky Thoughts" where the colors have been posted.

Eh, enough people have gotten it now so it's pretty much public. If you still want to be surprised, don't read the threads and don't click on the February inks page within the Ink Drop members section on the site. They're available for sale now, along with a whole bunch of Valentiney-colored pens and notebooks.

Mine arrived this afternoon, and I'm still trying to decide which one to test first! Strangely enough I'd considered voting for Arabian Rose and Ottoman Rose for the March drop (along with a bucket load of purples), so I'll probably settle on one or the other. Or the Herbin...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
