Private Reserve Ebony Green

My first review posted to the forum:

http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh263/Juiceyoshi/PREbonyGreen001.jpg

I got this ink in late August, and I'm really happy with it. I put it in a pen that I don't mind losing or carrying around at school.

SOME THINGS YOU MAY WANT TO NOTE:

My handwriting is extremely messy, and if there's anything you're having trouble picking out, just drop a comment and I'll decipher it.

The scan looks fairly accurate on my computer.

If your monitor is turned at a certain angle, the intersections of the swab look very yellowed. This can be solved by pulling your monitor away from you.

Ebony Green tends to bubble in the bottle and leave ink droplets everywhere when it pops. You can see that at the bottom of the review.

I am in no way affiliated with Private Reserve or their distributors.

Advertising your amazing blog in your signature can be an eyesore, unless done tastefully.

So can you, kind sir, make time in your schedule to visit my website? It is perfectly acceptable to miss out on such a great opportunity, but even the slightest glance at my url would be fantastic. http://greenlineblogs.blogspot.com/

Nice colour, very interesting! Your handwriting is not as bad as you seem to think, as I could read it without any undue effort. If you like this colour, I would also recommend to you Noodler's Sequoia. I own it, and I'm quite happy with it. It's a nice colour. It's a green that is unlike the green found in most ballpoints/rollerballs. A colour with the unique properties of green that still retains the gravitas of black, just like how this ink seems to be. I've also seen it recommended as a substitute for Montblanc British Racing Green. I also have the Platinum Preppy, it's a nice pen. Thank you for the review, it was good. Reasonably thorough, yet reasonably short.

Good review, thanks. I find this virtually identical to my bottle of Parker Penman Emerald.

"how do I know what I think until I write it down?"

I find this to be a delightful dark green. Very nice review.

I came here for the pictures and stayed for the conversation.

Thanks for the great review! I'm a huge fan of dark green inks but I've lately been a little frustrated with my Zhivago. I may have to pick this one up :)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
