Ink Review: Pr Plum

I also have it at the Ink Rack.

This was my first shot at a PR ink and of course because I love wet ink I had to get the Plum, I have been told the Tanzanite was even wetter but the jet pens was out of it when I ordered. So here is the lovely PR Plum. I love it. Over all the ink behaves very well on my paper it is a deep rich saturated color with a lovely wet line. I can see no feathering or bleed through. I have some small showing through on the otherside of the notebook page but nothing that would keep one from using both sides of the page. Plum doesn't have a large amount of shading, but there is some subtle work. Because of how wet the ink is the dry time is a bit slow but I think on the right paper it would be great for a left hand writer or just one who is careful. Make sure to keep this one away from water it does not like it at all.

Hi! Nice to see you popping in again. :D

This colour is so lovely - when I first got it I wrote everything with it because I loved it so much. Still do but now have lots of other colours that need a turn too. It's a pretty intense colour and can show through a bit on the paper but who cares when it's this pretty? It's very, very nice in an italic or stub nib too and has a wee bit more shading then as well.

This is the next ink on my 'To Buy' list! Got a letter in last week from a snailee who'd used this and was entranced by the beautiful shading .... think it was from an italic nib.

Just waiting for The Writing Desk to get more stocks in - are you listening, Martin??

I chose my user name years ago - I have no links to BBS pens (other than owning one!)

Karin thank you I have actually been very very very sick lately. But I am finally starting to feel a bit better. I really do love this color I have written several letters lately in it. I have lots of purples but this one is always on my to go to list...along with the Ebony Purple. Happy ebony purple goes on my old fashioned letters of fiction letters.

bbs you will love this color you really really will.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
