Hi,

Oh my!! Where's the pen rest???.

I suppose these are meant as 'tankers', not really for direct use.

Nice to see another (economical) option for inky folk.

Still wish they were glass. I try to be as anti-plastic as possible. :(

Keep up with everything going on in our shop and our region! News and other stuff on our Facebook page.

Glad to see these are here! Do you know how the size of the opening compares to the 30ml glass bottles?

Hello again,

Thank you for your reaction, yep you are right, the use of glass would have been nicer but also more expensive, i have worked yesterday on excel to compare the price per liter of the different ink manufacturer and my conclusion is that at this price, you have a Herbin ink at a Waterman price around.

Hello Brian, thanks for your questions and by the way bravo for your site and all you do to promote the great ink.

In fact the opening dimension is just the same on both bottle size only the height is different:

about 9.5 cm for the 100ml versus 5 cm about for the 30ml.

Have a nice day

Best regards

Jean Elie

When i took my first delivery, i was told that 10 colours would be stopped ( only in cartridges ) in a short time.

So here's a challenge for Herbin then.

Design a set of 8 re fillable and re sealable cartridges, 4 short international size and 4 long international supplied along with a dipensing syringe.

And if possible, a set of converters to allow them fit a range of modern and antique brands of pen.

Frankly, I'm a bit surprised they have the carts in all colors to begin with....they're one of the few that do that. I can name you at least a dozen Herbin cart colors that I've never once sold.

To clarify: is Herbin discontinuing ten colors in the bottles? Or ten colors in the cartridges?

Great to know! I hope other manufacturers follow their lead!

You could have an FPN sale if you haven't already disposed of them....

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
