I recently purchased an orange Conklin All-American fountain pen from a seller on feeBay. Yesterday, decided that I would like to ink it up but I noticed to my dismay several short (longitudinal) cracks around the circumference of the barrel at the treads where it attaches to the section. Egads!

 

This morning I contacted a customer service agent at Yafa Pen Co., Inc. (they bought Conklin) and informed her of my All-American problem. She politely expressed her condolences and stated that Yafa bought the Conklin name only. While they did have a small amount of Conklin parts as a result of the buy-out, they do not include any for the All-American. In other words, I spent $60.00 for a pen that cannot be repaired. Double egads!

 

She went on to say that they (i.e. Yafa) are reprising some of the original Conklin product line, namely the Herringbone, the Endura and the Mark Twain. All others Conklin pens are discontinued.

Remittance was via PayPal cash only. I am outside the 45-day parameter with no obvious means of recourse. Seller is "unable" to help. Believe I'm up a bloody creek on this one.
