Exchange badges

Can't decide where to put this thread, so I'm making a blind guess and hoping this is the right place.

I made some badges (to go in the signatures) for people who participate in the ink, postcard and letter exchanges/swaps. Hope you guys like them.

Maybe I should break this up and stick them in their respective threads?

I did my letter exchange one with a link to the snail mail topic, but sadly I didn't have enough characters left in my signature to do the same with the postcard one.

This is a very cute idea - I actually searched the forum to find this topic, once I saw a few of these floating around for folks. I love the snail mail logo.

When I first saw it, though, I thought the people brandishing it were members of "The Letter Exchange," an actual publication and service that's been around for quite some time.

Edit: that won't stop me from adding it to my own signature, since I'm a member in both places anyway. ;)

Ooh, someone stop me before I say something offensive!

This looks like such fun. I can think of a bunch of other exchanges we could get going here, based on recent Chatter threads...

I was wondering where folks were getting these! Nice idea!

I'm at capacity; otherwise, I'd use the postcard badge.

Cool'a you, eilu!

I mean no criticism of eilu great work, nor the other folks organizing these but what do you think about something a little more streamlined? The vertical height doubles the length of most posts, whereas something a bit stouter wouldn't break up text as much.

There, I've said it- and I'll leave it at that for fear of a mauling. :) Thanks again eilu- they look great!

Say can eilu make up a "mitten exchange" logo for us freezing northerners?

Very nice! I'll definitely put a couple of these to use, once I've assuaged my guilty conscience by catching up on my correspondence. Thanks! :)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
