The board is misbehavin'

I noticed that the board has been behaving strangely this evening and after submitting a post it gives the message that a mail limit has been reached.

"Echec ! Errors :

You've reached your maximum daily quota : 150

Mail Error!

Could not send the email

Failed at 'mail' command"

Upon hitting the back button and re-submitting the post I have found that the original post has already been posted and the second attempt has ended up causing a duplicate or double post.

If anyone else has noticed this happening I'd like to know and have found that hitting the back button and returning to the main index without re-submitting is the best option to prevent double posting.

I am hoping it's a temporary glitch and if anyone would like double posts to be deleted simply edit your double post to include a "please delete" message so we Admin types can clean things up.

Keith,

I noticed exactly the same thing last night.

I thought it was a problem with my computer, as I have had to recover from a major crash recently, but the symptoms were exactly as you described. And Maja, it was with posting to the board, not a PM or email, so it must have affected all modes of communications. Was a funny message to get when posting....

I don't remember where the duplicate message is, but I'll look it up and edit this message to point to it so it can be removed. I did edit it myself to provide a partial fix.

Gerry

Duplicate post is at: http://pagesperso.laposte.net/fpnet/1p3p1F...topic=127&st=15

last post, second page...

The problem seems to have been resolved and I went and cleaned up that extra post.

Gonna head over to the lounge for coffee now...

Cheers!

Not quite relevant but just so that you are aware, when I registered last night the promised registration validation email did not arrive. As you can see, I'm registered anyway...

Just bought my first ever vintage pen from Epray so I'll do a few pics when it arrives and see what you all think,

Regards

Si

Looking forward to it. Welcome to the board. I should understand more about the registration stuff - but don't. :)

Epray (as in "I pray that my pen will finally arrive in the mail...")

or Eprey (as in preying on innocent bidders)?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
