Hi

Maybe a bit of background is in order.

I won't bore you with how I got into collecting fountain pens suffice to say it was a family connection "lucky GRANDSON'

ALL WRITE NOW began as a simple idea to import some of the finely crafted eyedroppers that I had seen being discussed by several members.

Most notably Hari.

I have a friend in India and he was able to put me in direct contact with an agent for Guider Pens from Rajamundry India.

The decision needed to be made quickly as we strongly felt displaying the pens at the DC Show would be imperative to our success.

The proverbial hoops were jumped through orders placed and pens were manufactured.

Realizing that the lack of a web presence in 2008 would be a real hinderance we quickly setup the photobucket account.

This is by no means the end of our web effort.

I have been round and round with "godaddy" trying to get some help to build out the site. That proved to be a huge waste of time and money.

We have recently hired a web development firm and they are doing the necessary work to get us on line.

I've spent 30 years in the Environmentally Sustainable Cleaning Chemical business. I know, like the back of my hands, how to get the scuz off your shower. I haven't a clue as to web development.

A little patience and the website www.allwritenow.net will be completely operational.

In the interim we have been posting here and on other boards as well as the taking a table in DC to get out the word.

I have received many emails and back channel messages Thanking us for bringing these pens to the world.

Until our first order these pens had not been available outside of India.

I am thrilled and proud to tell you that Guider Pens has appointed us their exclusive outlet for their products in North America and currently the world.

The Pens...

Guider Pens has been manufacturing Ebonite and Celluloid Pens since 1946. They are utilizing equipment that they purchased in Germany around that time.

The craftsmen were trained by the preeminent pen makers Ratnam & Son. This all took place during the period of Mahatma Ghandi's "buy Indian" campaign.

The pens are made from High Quality materials including Ebonite, 60 year old Celluloid Nitrate and Dazzling Acrylics.

The pens are turned by hand on lathes by artisans that have been doing it for decades. One important note and to again answer a repeatedly asked question...

These pens are not in anyway made with exploited labor. These workers are well paid, everything is relative mind you, and it is a very coveted career in the small town of Rajamundry.

I am travelling to India in Late October early November to see first hand the making of these pens and nibs.

A few details about the pens.

First every single pen is inspected by me personally. The nibs are smoothed if necessary and the flow can be adjusted to your liking.

We are also able to offer custom nibs in Fine Italic, currently and other profiles shortly.

As an avid collector myself I will 100% stand behind any pens I sell. If for any reason even if it's just that the color wasn't what you thought it to be, I will promptly and cheerfully refund your money including any shipping charges both ways.

So I ask that you bear with me just a little while longer and the website will be up and running.

In the meantime I hang out here often like alot of folks and can easily be reached with a PM or an email to

allwritenowdotnet@gmail.com

I hope that helps to clear up any consternation or confusion.

Please feel free to ask anything you'd like. We love pens as much as anyone and enjoy gabbing about them with you.

We will be at many of the upcoming Pen Shows. Hopefully, to include the WES Show in London in October.

If I can ever get my passport updated from the State Department.

Thanks so much!

Don't let anyone like that, or a web development company, sucker you out of too much money! Folks like myself would certainly help out at more reasonable rates. will work for pens? :P Naturally, in these cases, it depends on what you want- a simple page to sell pens from, or something with Flash, music and lots of Photoshopage.

Steve, you said that you stand behind your pens? I doubt you'd fit behind the ones I bought at the DC show. I am holding the teeny one and think you will definitely NOT fit behind it... :ltcapd:

Beautiful pens - I think you will do very well. When do you expect to offer some pens for sale?

Good luck - I'm looking forward to being one of your first customers.

They certainly look beautiful. I'm a bit surprised that I've never encountered any of these for sale at the shops selling FPs in India that I've visited, but my interest is certainly piqued.

Hi, None of the shops here carry Guider or Ratnamson, they are sold directly by the companies through mail order.

Best,

Hari

Hi Steve,

Some nice looking pens there at great prices, hopefully you will make it to the WES pen show (I hope to be there), may get a chance to say Hi in person and maybe take couple of pens off your hands.

Must admit I never expected to meet any of our US members at a London Penshow, what's the chance of some of the 'big hitters' coming across to show us what they've got.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
