Newspaper article about pen collecting

A friend just gave me a cutting from Saturday's copy of The Independent (a UK national newspaper) all about fountain pen collecting. Here's the online reference for anyone who's interested:

There were three pictures in the printed version: one of an Onoto in its box, and two separate ones of Parker 75s.

Interesting article, but it points out why I will never consider myself a "collector." The advice is, if you're buying for an investment, do not use the pen. I use my pens, and can't conceive of buying a pen and keeping it in its original wrappings. Seems perverse, somehow.

Same here. I don't have the disposable income to just buy and not use. It would kill me to just stare at the pen but can't use it. So I guess some collectors buy 2; one to collect and one to use. He he..
