I'm looking forward to seeing your CD, Kimy. Hope our wonderful little journal makes its way to me soon. Jimothy - you still have it?

Excuse me, Ma'am...I should have written "Please say Jump"

I wonder which will get to me first, the ITJ or my de Atramentis Pinot Noir ink

Hi, All. I still have not received the journal from Jimothy. I sent him a PM some time ago & never heard back. I hope he's ok. Maybe he'll have a pirate tale or two to share once he gets the journal on its travels again.

It appears that Jimothy's last post on the forum was the one in this thread, on Feb 18 .... so I do hope he's OK.

Hallelujah! I just received a PM from our very own Jimothy. He's fine, has just been overwhelmed. Plans to get the journal in the mail soon. So nice to know he's ok. So our little journal will be on its way to me before too long. Thanks for getting in touch with me, Jimothy.

Sorry if my absence here has caused any concern. I will just say that I have been a very busy boy of late and that I am in absolutely great health. I won't tell you all about it here - you'll have to wait for the journal. :)

So how long until this journal arrives back home? Like how many more stops then a date.

Sorry to tell you, ExcaliburZ, you are not on the list for THIS journal...there are just 6 of us (I think) and it circulates around us.

Maybe you are on the mailing list for another one?

If not, you could always start another one!

And one can never put a date on its return ....as you can see from the correspondence above, sometimes they get delayed.

What a positive post. I, too, am glad all is well, and I am very much ready to check out the new entries.

Hm, we should be getting just about ready for the next journal, shouldn't we? Whomever finishes out, remember to keep me in the loop there so I can get the next one started and sent to the next in line while I go about the ever fun scanning the completed one to make sure everyone gets copies! When I retire, each and every one of you is going to get a visit from me (assuming my passport has been renewed and I have any money left).

But what a lovely thought of yours, Kimy :)

It's good to know the journal ( one of the senior ones at the forum, and still going on) it's on its way. Jimothy may add a touch of suspense now and then but he always delivers. Let's hope the postman does as well. Receiving it has been a true pleasure and a great experience from the very beginning. Given how full it was the last time I saw it, it may be a good time to start thinking on sending the full one to Kiavonne and starting a new one. What do you think, Kuzdu, will you and Clydesdave manage or shall we get another? Regards to all.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
