Fantastic news, Elaine! :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01:

But, now, 216 bottles. That's a very specific number. Do you anticipate that Van Gogh Blue will be available for ordering in the future?

Thanks again for all of your hard work!

Here's hoping for a speedy and uneventful trip to the Great White North (oops, I forgot to ask if it was Polar Ink?? Just kidding!) without CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) sticking their nose in the package!

A case is 144 bottles and it's a case and a half. I estimated how much we would need based on how many orders there were when Noodler's was ready to make the ink. I'm afraid I estimated wrong and we'll have to order more before long. The question will be whether or not to order 1/2 case or a whole one.

Great news :D

Did the label turn out nice?

It turned out fantastic! I would photograph and post it, but I'm a bit overwhelmed with shipping. A number of bottles shipped today, so perhaps someone else could do it when it arrives?

That is so exciting. I cannot even imagine having to box up, label, do all the inventory records, and mail that many. Many thanks for the incredible and extra amount of work that everyone put in for all these FPN custom inks. Everytime I use one of them, I say "Thank You."

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

Yesterday I ordered the Dumas Tuplipe Noire after being hooked by the colour from the review. Now that I know how much work it took to get the ink to me i.e. labelling, shipping, administrating ...etc... I would like to send a heartfelt thanks to everyone involved. Your labour of love is truly appreciated. Aother donation to FPN is on its way...

Hello Elaine,

I am a new member and probably missed some information on this new Van Gogh starry nights blue Noodler's ink for FPN members. I read it is "standard ink" rather than bulletproof; does that mean it is waterproof?

Thanks

It will just be a regular ink, but in a color exclusive to FPN. It won't be waterproof or bulletproof. It will be an ink like Noodler's regular (standard) inks. This is my understanding, anyway.

The ink has some water resistance, but is not waterproof.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
