I just received a bottle of this ink yesterday, which I bought as a result of this review. Now all I need to do is figure out what pen to put it in. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the MB Racing Green I also purchased. These plus a recent bottle of Blue obtained in a trade, are my first MB inks and I must say they're excellent.

Hi,

Glad you like them! The turquoise is really fun.

BTw, the racing green is a very interesting ink, because it looks very different depending on the degree of flow of your pen. I have it in a pen with a fine nib with steady but thin flow, and the color is so beautiful. This color I prefer to what I see in a wider nib with greater flow which produces a much darker green, although some may feel the opposite.

  • 3 years later...

I got a warmth inside. This was my father's ink of choice in his liver-barreled,

gold cap Parker 51. He bought it as a set in the early 1950's. In his business

circle, MB Turquoise and Parker 51 was Dad's trade mark. This is the ink I use only

in Dad's 51. I don't use this ink in any other pen.

After I inherited Dad's Parker 51, I wrote with it to family and friends of the family.

More than a few people replied, " Oh, you have your father's pen."

My writing is conservative, and MB Turquoise is sedate. When I see it used by a bolder

style, it really is striking. Dad's hand was bold.

It has been a pleasure.

Auf freiem Grund mit freiem Volke stehn.
Zum Augenblicke dürft ich sagen:
Verweile doch, du bist so schön !

You make it look like fun! Beautiful color!

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

I'm quite a fan of Mb turquoise ink, but I don't use it very often. I bet my bottle is past it's sell by date but hopefully that doesn't matter.

I also have 2 bottles of Mb emerald green ink and I love that colour. Sadly it isn't available anymore and for me their racing green and white forest are a bit on the dark side.

The ink of friendship turquoise is exactly the same shade! Chris Chalmers wrote back to me with an old bottle of MB turquoise (after I'd written to her in the ink of friendship) and side by side ... IDENTICAL.

Except the ink of friendship is in a small and VERY expensive bottle in comparison! Ahhh... Montblanc ....

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
