Appeal For Aid From A French Speaker

I'm sorry if this is miscategorized; I couldn't figure out if it was more ink-related, help-related, or market-related.

If anyone speaks French and has a facebook account, I would be eternally indebted if you would go to L'artisan Pastellier's account and ask them to add the inks Teodora and Olivastre in the 50 ml aluminum packs to their website ordering system so I can get them. I think they forgot to list them.

I have sent emails, a letter, and a fax. (The emails bounce.) I know they still exist, because they deliver orders in record time, but I would like to buy their green Callifolio inks in my next order, and I'm sure there are other internet-buyers out there, too.

I am 95% sure they're still making Olivastre and Teodora, since a friend got a free bonus pack in their order.

(Clarification: I'm not trying to start a write-in campaign or anything - I'd just like one person to point out to them, in French, that Teodora and Olivastre aren't in the online store, and people want them.)

Hello. I've just sent them a message via FB. If and when they get back to me, I'll post their answer.

You are the best. Thank you so much.

No problem. They've just answered. The good news is both inks are still available.

The bad news is you have to call them to place an order. The number of the atelier is 05 63 42 12 23 - once they get the order, you will be directed to their shop to finalize it and pay with a credit card. With a little luck, you will get to talk to someone who understands English...

Based on their explanation, I'm thinking they only make these inks in small batches (hence the need to speak to the people in the atelier first and the reason they are not listed on their web site).

Hope this helps.

That's helpful, though not what I wanted to hear! Thanks for reporting back.

Edit: I got a mysterious message pointing me toward Vanness, which is another good option that doesn't require phones. They have always been great (no affil.). Thank you, mysterious stranger!

I know they make those because we recently restocked And I have those colors. They seem to only be available a few hours a day, a few days a week.

Thanks for the confirmation. I am really happy y'all carry these inks: they're really great. I just wish L'artisan was as easy to access, since I like getting my big weird overseas packages.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
