Adjusting Nib/feed To Reduce Ink Flow

I've done some searching on the forums, but didn't find exactly what I'm looking for. I have a Platinum 3776 Shoji fountain pen with a fine nib that writes too wet. I've tried changing inks to some drier inks, but it didn't really help.

I'm wondering whether I need to bend this nib away from the feed or towards the feed to cut off flow a bit. Also would heat setting help ?

Please give me some detailed instructions on how best to reduce ink flow.

To bring the tines a bit closer, I generally pinch the "shoulders" of the nib when the nib is off the pen. A bit of pressure gets the job done. Don't go TOO far or you will make it too dry.

Wow, looks scary :-) but useful knowledge nevertheless. I started watching the videos, then got hooked about the 99c pen review, then was looking into the possibility of swapping nibs... This world of fountain pens is quite enticing, haha!

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
