Sonnet Sterling Silver Cisele

I appreciate your diplomacy. I crossed the International Dateline once and lost a day of my life. I'm not sure which one, though. One thing that I do know is: Your Parker Sonnet Ciselé certainly arrived before mine.

(Edited to add the word, "Ciselé".)

Well , I requested , in my opening post , not to be scolded for mistyping the word. I simply cant type it that way. Cant find where the symbols are and how to use them. You could have spared me of the 'Censure' on the mistake. Couldn't you ? Lolz.

I just looked at my pen under a microscope and even at that you can't tell what the markings are. It looks like there's a double ended arrow and a couple or three letters but the lines get in the way.

I don't know how to write "Ciselé" on the computer either. I just cut and paste from someone else's post. I guess I could figure it out if I tried.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

It should be an arrow with P above and W below (Parker/Waterman) and .925 preceeded by the French Hallmark for sterling silver (probably a crab). As you say the markings are very small and the lines get in the way.

Obviously, it's because you're posting pictures lying down. I realize you're 12 hours ahead of we who remain upright, so I forgive you.

James , I am serious. The picture always gets rotated when I post it . Anything I can do to prevent the rotation?

Odd - I never noticed that P/W before

I use an app to rotate photos - lots of them out there for free

I always thought that Pakistan was in the other direction.

I'm not the right person to ask, because to this point I've still managed to avoid using a smart phone. I can only offer what I would do, which is rotate the image 90 degrees clockwise in your phone (if possible) to compensate, since your image is rotating 90 counter-clockwise. I realize that image display responds to the orientation of the phone itself, so I'm stumped on this one. I'm sure there's a more logical way, but this Luddite doesn't have it. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

I just looked at another Ciselé pen (BP) under the microscope and I definitely saw part of the arrow with the P and W and there was also a marking which looked like MD 925. Again, the lines were getting in the way.

I also have a Parker 75 Ciselé and since it was made in the US all it says is Sterling Silver.

It is "sterling cap&barrel" on my 75 cisele.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
