A search of FPN for "Chris Thompson" pens leads to a locked thread that announces Chris Thompson's new website last year, but his links are dead. Does anyone know his fate?

May or may not be valid (considering the article is from 2003) but he has an email link at the top here : http://www.newpentrace.net/penbase/Data_Returns/full_article8e6a.html?id=412

 

And the last time he was active on FountainPenBoard was a little over a year ago (Last Active March 2014), which has a Y! id of thompenshop@yahoo.com which may also act as his email.

 

Also it would appear his domain thompsonpens.com expired and was snatched up by NetworkSolutions which is a "Premium" domain in thier catalog costing $977 to register, ie: it's available, but at a premium cost.

 

Since the last 'active' replica pens seems to be around 2007 ish, I'm going to guess he was out of the game for a while now.

i picked up one of his pens earlier this year on ebay of all places (duofold replica demonstrator) and tried to contact him via email a couple times - but no response... i too reckoned he was "out of the game" one way or another.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
